Class Descriptions

To allow for social dis-dancing in the studio, we have created multiples of certain class levels to create smaller class sizes. These classes are broken up into sections of A, B & C

Ages are as for reference only. In some cases; ages will not apply to the class at teacher's discretion

Ballet - Jazz - Tap - Contemporary

Bitty Beatz Ballet & Tumble (Ages 2.5 - 4)

This class is for our tiniest dancers – Ages 2.5-4. In this class we will focus on the basics of Ballet including the terminology as well as movements in a fun and non-threatening way. Ballet provides grace, poise, and helps with posture, flexibility and fitness and supports coordination and balance. In addition to the Ballet, we will also learn the beginning skills of Acro including forward/backward rolls, bear walks, crab walks, etc. 

Creative Movement Level 1 & 2

Creative Movement. This is a two-year program for children ages 3-4 & 5-7 that focuses on coordination and creativity. This is a combination class of Ballet & Tap in which your dancer will learn the basics of each style to increase balance, rhythm, movement and musicality.  

Lyrical/Ballet Level 1 (Ages 4-6)

Level 1 is a beginner combination class will explore both Ballet technique and terminology as well as the different styles of Lyrical. As the two styles of dance compliment each other, your dancer will learn how to apply their Ballet technique in their Lyrical choreography. In this class we will spend time at the barre, across the floor as well as learning choreography and improvisation.

Lyrical/Ballet Level 2 (Ages 7 & above)

As described above.  Level 2 is a combination class is designed for students with previous Ballet experience. This class requires a pre-requisite of Ballet Level 1 or pre-approval from the owners. Please contact at [email protected] for any questions! 

Ballet Level 1 (Ages 5 & above) 

Level 1 focuses on knowledge of Ballet terminology and technique. This class will include work at the Barre, across the floor as well and center-floor work. Here, we will explore multiple styles of Ballet while increasing precision, balance and overall strength. Ballet is the core to all dance and will be key for our students as they continue their dance education in other styles.

Ballet Level 2 (Ages 7 & above)  

Level 2 requires previous experience and knowledge of Ballet terminology and technique. This class will include work at the Barre, across the floor as well and center-floor work. Here, we will continue to explore multiple styles of Ballet while increasing precision, balance and overall strength. This class will help our students as they continue their dance education in other styles. This class requires a pre-requisite of Ballet Level 1 or pre-approval from the owners. Ballet/Jazz Combo ** Daytime Class (Ages 7 & above)

This entry level combination class will explore both Ballet and Jazz technique. The first half of the class will focus on the fundamentals of Ballet to warm up for the energizing second half of Jazz technique and choreography. 

Intermediate Ballet/Jazz (Ages 13 & above)

This combination class is designed for dancers with Ballet and Jazz experience. We will dedicate half of the class to working on Ballet Technique with barre work, across the floor and center work. The other half of the class will focus on Jazz Technique and choreography.

Pointe

This classical ballet technique concerns pointe work, in which a ballet dancer supports all body weight on the tips of fully extended feet in fitted pointe shoes.  In order to be considered for this class; ballet dancers must pass a skills test and have a strong background in ballet technique.  This class requires pre-approval from the studio owners. Jazz/Tap Level 1 (Ages 6 & above)

This combination class introduces both Tap and Jazz fundamentals. Half of the class will be focused on Jazz technique and choreography, while the other half will work towards tap technique both with and without music. 

Intermediate Contemporary

For dancers 13 and above with a strong background in ballet. Connect your mind and body through fluid dance while elevating technique and skill. Contemporary combines ballet and modern techniques with emotional and musical expression. This class will concentrate on contraction and release, off-center balance and suspension. * REQUIRES enrollment in Ballet class also*

Urban

Urban (Ages 14 & above)

Choreography draws from hip hop, street and funk styles which interprets the music.  This class encourages individuality and is a mindset that allows movement to flow freely.  See video on our home page for samples of this style

Hip Hop

Hip Hop **Daytime Class (Ages 7-11)

This entry level Hip Hop class will bring fun and energetic music and moves to your dancer's day! We will focus on the beginnings of hip hop through technique and choreography. Here, we will also explore different styles of hip hop such as funk, popping, locking as well as tricks. 

Hip Hop Level 1 (Ages 5 & above)

Hip Hop classes focus on learning the fundamentals of the many funk/ street styles under the dance umbrella of Hip Hop, while exploring the history of Hip Hop culture. In this class we develop our skills through hard work and dedication, and with improvement will come increasingly more difficult combinations and tricks. We deeply encourage a judgement free environment in this class that allows for freedom of expression through movement and creativity.

Hip Hop Level 2 (Ages 9 & above)

 As described above.  Level 2 explores jazz funk, breaking as well as pop & Lock. Combinations and tricks will be practiced becoming more challenging with ability. This class requires a pre-requisite of Hip Hop Level 1 or pre-approval from the owners. 

Intermediate Hip Hop (Ages 13 & above)

Dancers 13 and above will master the fundamentals of breaking and a variety of funk styles to assist in learning and executing more advanced techniques. This combines with a focus on physical strength and pliability to improve cardiovascular health and coordination to aid in executing faster paced and more difficult choreography. Class environment is built around a community feeling and positive vibe/ energy to embrace the essence of Hip Hop.

Boys Hip Hop Level 1 (Ages 5 & above)

This class for boys focuses on building strength and endurance to aid in executing more physically demanding breaking steps, while also concentrating on learning the fundamentals of animation, such as waving, tutting, and isolations. The atmosphere of this class is positive and supportive, working to build up confidence and an enjoyment of dance and community.

Boys Hip Hop Level 2 (Ages 7 & above)

As described above.  Level 2 continues the technique with a progression of the fundamentals

Acro & Musical Theater

Acro **Daytime Class (Ages 7-11)

In this class, students will learn stretches and conditioning to strengthen their muscles and increase flexibility. Classes focus on proper hand placement and body alignment.

Acro Level 1 (Ages 6 & above)

Our Acro programs are based on safe and effective progressions in all areas including: Flexibility, Strength, Balancing, Limbering and Tumbling.  Level 1 focuses on proper hand placement and body alignment along with introduction to strength and conditioning skills.

Acro Level 2 (Ages 9 & above)

 As described above.  Level 2 is a continuation of skills and movement progressing to advanced tricks.   Dancers are required to have taken Level I or equivalent experience.  

Musical Theater Level 2 (Ages 7 & above)

As described above.  Level 2 will focus on expanding proper dance technique while exploring the various dance styles used in Broadway shows. ... Emphasis will also be placed on learning performance skills such as connecting with the audience and telling a story through dance and facial expressions.
